H1N1 Phishing Attacks
A huge spam run went out today by hackers posing as the Centers for Disease control. Attached to the emails are links to download your “patient profile” which is actually a Trojan horse program. Unlike many phishing attacks that use bad spelling and grammar, this one is well crafted and includes banners and the correct address for the CDC in Atlanta. Remember folks, the government never sends you email for free stuff, including vaccines.
And a word of caution to hackers impersonating Federal agencies: every agency has an Inspectors General office. And all IG’s carry firearms and take the lead in investigating cyber crime involving their agency. They get trigger happy, just so you know.
