Perky Bat Tower on Sugarloaf Key
Exploring the Florida Keys, we stumbled across the Perky Bat Tower, on Sugarloaf Key, built in the 1920’s in an attempt to deal with mosquitoes that were spreading malaria. The attempt failed. Once the bats were introduced to the tower, they all flew away.
