Building Your Own Airplane
image, a photo by BelchSpeak on Flickr.
This is an undated photo of my Grandfather, left, hanging out in a garage with his cousins, the Grubbs, assembling their own airplane.
When other folks back in the 40’s and 50’s might have tried to create a hot rod in their garage, these guys built and flew their own aircraft, which they later used as an aerial photography business, selling photos to business owners in the small mountain city of Bluefield, WV.
In fact, the business is still in operation today, and it still does aerial photography.
That is just too cool.
