Universal Background Checks for Welfare Recipients
The left is very fond of trying to implement laws that restrict a guaranteed freedom listed in the bill of rights. The big outcry today is to have universal background checks on all Americans who wish to purchase a firearm. The argument is that no one who is dangerous should get a weapon, and there is a bonus of getting those gun-owner registries into the hands of law enforcement- so when guns get outlawed, cops can go confiscate firearms. But given that the Boston Marathon Bombers were on foodstamps and welfare, I think its time to implement universal background checks on all welfare recipients. After all, no one who is dangerous should get a free handout from taxpayers. If it would save just one life, shouldn’t we at least try?

Also, the feds don’t do background checks to even find out if foodstamp recipients are illegal aliens. In fact, they are promoting free handouts to these lawbreakers. From BigGov here:
A government watchdog group has discovered that the United States government is advising Spanish-speaking residents that they need not declare their immigration status to qualify for food stamps.
Judicial Watch obtained the Spanish-language flyers through a Freedom of Information Act request and announced on Thursday that the “promotion of the food stamp program, now known as ‘SNAP’ (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), includes a Spanish-language flyer provided to the Mexican Embassy by the USDA.
A statement on the flyer—emphasized in bold and underlined—reads, “You need not divulge information regarding your immigration status in seeking this benefit for your children.”
Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton said of this discovery, the “USDA is actively working with the Mexican government to promote food stamps for illegal aliens.” This implication, he asserted, “should have a direct impact on the fate of the immigration bill now being debated in Congress.”
So I think universal background checks for leeches on society is an idea whose time has come.
