Transparent Smartphone is Coming

There is a new type of smartphone under development in Taiwan. Its completely transparent. When powered on, liquid quartz energizes to produce displays, icons and other software components. To me, this seems like a useless invention. Just because the technology to do something is possible, doesn’t mean it will be embraced by the masses.

I’ve been in Key West almost a week and last night a female friend dramatically misplaced her iPhone. She called Verizon, locked the phone remotely and began to stress about losing data, photos and having to shell out cash for a replacement. It was dark; we had just returned from having several adult beverages on Duval street, and I told her that it would turn up in the morning. Now imagine that your smartphone is freakin’ CLEAR. You’d lose this phone in plain sight at least three times per day.
