As Byron Sonne Rots in Jail, He Compares Himself to Jesus

Byron Sonne is still in jail, waiting for yet another bail hearing for possession of explosives to come around- bail which will be denied again much to the consternation of his leftist and anarchist friends. In the mean time, his wife, arrested a day after he was, is filing for divorce. She has never been to court to watch any his hearings and is moving on with her life without him. You can hear Kelly Madison, aka Digimer, read one of his letters from jail in her deep voice on a podcast here in which Sonne bemoans the fact that his rich ex is cutting him out of her life.

Denise Balkissoon wrote a good article on Sonne which made the cover of Toronto Life magazine. Her article, found here for a price, or found here, uploaded as a scanned PDF file from Sonne’s supporters, details how Sonne has lost everything in his life, or at least, what little he had to begin with, in his anarchist quest for attention.

The article reveals how Sonne uploaded the Ararchist’s cookbook, along with Hitler’s Mein Kamf to his Bittorrent account, along with details on how to set firebombs- a document from Earth Liberation Front, an eco terror group. He had loads of hydrogen peroxide and ammonium nitrate fertilizer- enough to make some pretty destructive bombs- and his claim is that he’s an amateur rocketteer, and was using the chemicals to launch backyard rockets.

Sonne is still defiant and thinks he is going to be vindicated. And that somehow, he thinks he is being persecuted as a saint, or even worse, as Jesus Christ himself. He likens his punishment to wearing a crown of thorns.

He wrote Balkissoon in one letter:

I hurt like hell with loneliness and ache with a loss of my life’s meaning at times. To go from a beautiful life, a beautiful wife with a beautiful house to this- I’d say its my crown of thorns if that didn’t make me sound like an egotistical asshole.”

The man definitely has a severe persecution complex and is completely self absorbed. He bemoans all of his losses, such as his wife, his job and his home, but he doesn’t think he brought any of it on himself. He didn’t have any active clients for his cyber security work, and his home is owned by his soon-to-be ex wife’s parents. I get the sense that Kristen Petersen has abandoned him because his own obsession with leftist, anarchist ideals became a destructive influence on her and her family’s life. But Sonne’s pride and sense of righteousness persists. A good thing I guess since that seems all there is left for him.
