Smoke Detectors are Radioactive??!

Well, there is a very tiny piece of Americium, a radioactive material that makes your smoke detector work. The engineer guy has a good explanation, but most of it involves simple electronics.

But if you know anyone who is nutty enough to think that they suffer from chronic health issues they claim are from harmless environmental issues- such as wifi signal exposure. Quick go tell them that their smoke alarms have radioactive material in it! They will immediately freak the hell out.
