Rodney King Engaged to Rainmaking Juror

Rodney King started hooking up with one of the jurors who made it rain 3.5 million sawbucks on his night-stick dented dome back in 1994 after “running into her” at a pizza shop. They were both married at the time. And Rodney ended up with a rockbottom encounter with addiction and eventually a brand new house courtesy of Dr. Drew on Celebrity Rehab. Now Rodney has announced that he is engaged to the same woman who accompanied him to the depths of despair.

Police beating victim Rodney King is engaged to one of the jurors who awarded him a $3.8 million settlement.

King and Cynthia Kelley said they first felt a romantic spark when they met in a Newport Beach pizzeria the day after the controversial 1994 jury award.

Both were married at the time, which complicated the blossoming relationship.

They later separated when King joined the cast of VH1’s “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew” after multiple arrests for being under the influence of PCP or alcohol.

Four months ago, King, 44, called Kelley on a whim.

King’s beatings sparked race riots that left 55 dead and more than 2,000 injured.
