Golden Tee Golf 2011 Preview
As is customary, whenever I am in a new town, I look for a nearby pub that has a Golden Tee Golf game.
As it turns out, Chicago is the home of Incredible Technologies, the maker of the Golden Tee Games, and beginning today they were allowing players to preview the GT 2011 game at only 4 area pubs. One of them was only seven miles from my hotel so of course I geeked out and went there. The food was great and so was the game.
One of the most exciting features of the 2011 version is the ability to purchase Golden Tees. These are tees that your player can use that allows you to adjust your position within the tee box and also adjust the striking height of the ball. A high tee allows you to hit straight with a higher loft and longer distance. A low tee allows for tighter hooks. This will greatly change the dynamic of the game since so many of the new courses force players to lay up instead of taking longer shots.
There are also many new ball variants as well as lots of new customized clubs to choose from. The greatest coin operated game ever just got a bit tougher and a lot more fun. The screenshot below shows the French course. There is also an Egyptian course, a Grizzly themed wooded course, and a glacier course.
Thanks to “the General”, “PCC**” and “Born Loser!” for the great game.
I hate you…..
LOL. Don’t worry you can play it in September.
Hey did I mention that my apartment has a GTG arcade in the game room. Personally I am not that interested, more of a foosball type myself, but it is sortof interesting.
