Nuuanu Pali Lookout
I stood on the spot where King Kamehameha shoved hundreds of warriors over these 900 foot cliffs to their deaths. They even called it the battle of the “flopping fish” because that’s what the men looked like as the fell over and splatted to their deaths. The battle was decisive and finally united Hawaii under a single King.
There is a panoramic view of Oahu’s windward side with sweeping views of K?ne?ohe, K?ne?ohe Bay, and Kailua. This ridge seems to capture all of the wind aimed at the island and funnels it upwards over this pass. I could barely keep my iPhone still as I took this photo due to the gusts.
