Leftists Embracing Environmentalism As Religion

A girlish man over at Daily Kos admits what I’ve been saying for years now– that eco-worship exists and it has replaced all other religions for the left in this country. For me I hope this meme goes mainstream on the left.

In so far as all morality is fundamentally based on preservation, betterment and continuation of life, there is no higher morality than environmentalism.

All religions pale in comparison.

Morality, when associated with religion, is limited and parochial. It is primarily focused on preservation, betterment and continuation of humans, but not all humans, only those following a particular belief system.

Even when it pretends to extend beyond that parochial realm – for example, “Love thy neighbor” and “Thou shalt not kill”, religious morality is limited to human life.

Environmentalism, on the other hand, encompasses preservation, betterment and continuation of all life, and, therefore, is the highest level of morality.

Okay, now they are admitting that their love for all things green is a morality and indeed a religion for them. Hooray for finally admitting it. Now we must have the will to take this to the next step: Ban government sanction of it.

If environmentalism is a religion, you MUST, according to the Constitution, prohibit the government from restricting or endorsing this religion. That means that leftists are free to worship the earth however they feel like it. I have no problem with that. Go hug those trees, hippies! I do, however, have a real problem with Government creating laws and enforcing the tenets of this religion. Government should deal with environment issues as a matter of science, not human behavior. As such, there should be no more:

• HOV Lanes-  these do little to save fuel or the environment
• Government sponsored and managed recycling programs.  Recycling does nothing to help the environment, and is simply a make work program for undereducated and mentally disabled persons. See video below.
• Government managed endangered species lists.  This means that there are no restrictions on human use of private lands such as wetlands restrictions or logging bans because of an owl.
• Recognition of Eath Day-  get the green movement message out of the government and out of our schools and out of our workplaces.  They are offensive and no one should be forced to be preached to about their religion and morality.

Won’t someone please take a case to the Supreme Court and get this green movement officially classified as a religion?
