11 PM Music: MorningWood – “Best of Me”

Morningwood has a gritty hard rock edge and I think this video sets out to prove that lead singer Chantal Claret has rock and roll balls! The video is a bit shocking, but the song and its hook should make this a great hit.

And its also refreshing to see a plus-sized rocker that is proud of her body. She is a confident woman who knows she looks good and was actually perplexed by YouTube comments that called her fat. On her blog here she writes:

Now this one is sort of a bummer, the whole “FAT” issue. I was wondering if this would come up but I figured in a world of Beth Dittos & Adeles & Kelly Clarksons maybe it was okay to be ya know. . .a lady. I personally have never considered myself FAT. I think I got big titties and a big ass, of course there are things about myself I would tone up and shit and I am not perfect by any means. But I like the way I look and have never had any problem finding dudes and ladies who agree with me in the sexy term of the word. I have managed to sow my wild oats there and back again before finding my super soul mate who thinks that I am the hottest thing on the planet.

Only when going into the music business did I start to encounter any issues, and never from the business side funnily enough. We have only had two people that have worked with us in early in our 8 year career who ever mentioned anything about my weight and they were both fired the next day (HA HA!). Anyways, I think I look pretty fly and I am pretty secure with myself considering all the shit I have read in the past. So anyways, yeah I wore me some HOT PANTS in our video and on KIMMEL. I was like “YEAH fucking HOT PANTS! I can rock this shit!!”.

Low and behold, when the video was uploaded on the youtube, I went and perused the comments and I was like “WOAHHHHHHHHHH!”, pretty much every one of them was like super nasty meaness about what a fatty fatterson I am.
