Camp Pervy
Billy here is mighty proud to be pitching a tent in the woods. That tent looks brand new to me so maybe this is a photo op. He has to live as a permanent urban outdoorsman because the Georgia laws restrict registered sex offenders from being anywhere that is 1000 feet from children. The AP’s caption says:
William Hawkins, a convicted sex offender, leans on a tree next to his tent in an encampment of sex offenders in a wooded area of Marietta, Ga. on Sept. 23, 2009. Nine people on the sex offender registry live in the camp, saying Georgia’s strict sex offender law has left them few options. The law bans sex offenders from living, working or loitering within 1,000 feet of schools, churches parks and other spots where children gather.
Here is his sex offender’s page at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Seem’s like this isn’t the first tent he’s pitched.
Awwww…poor guy. My heart bleeds for him. He’s lucky he isn’t dead at the hands of a pissed parent.
…OR dead from another inmates hands… poor poor thing… isn’t that just TOO FRIGGIN’ BAD!
yer right…they doan like guys with “short eyes” in prison.
Sexual predators are horrible! However, until we make all sexual crimes a mandatory death sentence, we have to have some sort of solution that allows for these people to live *somewhere*. There has to be some sort of solution. These people will not just disappear, as much as we might like them to. Now, if we *do* want to make all sex crimes a mandatory death sentence, that’s another matter.
