Happy I Don’t Ride the Metro
When I worked at DHS I made the decision to stop riding the Metro train in and out of DC. I was privy to threats and risks like never before and I decided that riding the Metro was no longer worth the risk of a terror attack given its level of security versus its exposure to attack. Plus, it was always crowded, too expensive, I rarely would get a seat, and the effing escalators would stay broken for months at a time. Now one of the trains had jumped the track and had a head-on with another train. As if the commute in DC didn’t suck enough…
