Famous Psychic Bilked for $200K
Rosemary Altea has been exposed as a fraud as a psychic on the first episode of Penn and Teller’s Bullsh*t program on Showtime. Now one of her close assistants has exposed Rosemary Altea as being horrible at math and worse at trusting people. Altea’s accountant bilked the psychic for 200,000 dollars by filing a false tax return. You would think that as a psychic, Altea would have seen this coming.
From the Banner here:
Denise M. Hall, 51, of East Arlington, has reached a plea deal with federal prosecutors on charges of wire fraud and filing a false tax return, after taking between $120,000 and $200,000 from her employer, Rosemary Altea of Dorset.
Hall was employed by Altea, a nationally known self-proclaimed psychic and “spiritual medium” who has appeared on “Oprah” and “Larry King Live,” between 2001 and 2008 as an office manager and bookkeeper.
So now that Altea is out of all this cash, will she accept James Randi’s prize if she can prove she is psychic?
