Ancient Roman Theater
I will be spending a fortnight in Amman, Jordan. There is a lot to see there, including Petra, but smack in the middle of downtown is an archaeological mound that houses a temple to Hercules, a palace and other ruins that run from the Ancient Roman period through early Islamic period. And nearby is this ancient theater.
I don’t know if I will be able to do much touring, but I will try to update when I can, including photos. So if the blog goes stale for a few days at a time, you know why. During those lulls, check out the archives listed at the right ==>
Are you going to Petra? Perfect time of year. Not as many tourists. We were there last year at this time – it snowed. We had the place to ourselves. The poor animals are treated so cruelly there it will blow your mind. We actually saw a dead horse. Climb the stairs – all 500 or so of them – up one side, down the other. Let us know what you think of Petra. [I knew I recognized your picture to this post.] If you’re staying at the Marriott in Amman or anywhere near it there is a great steak restaurant there – most excellent wine selection!
