Reason 167 to HomeSchool: Swat Team Won’t Be Called for Schoolyard Kisses
Complete Douchbaggery reigns at the Denver Government. You have a douchebag “assistant to the secretary of the district attorney” named Lamar Sims who charged a school principal with a crime for not reporting to the cops “in a timely manner” that there was a possible minor sexual harassment case between two teens. Now one first grader told another that she had a “sexy booty,” and the cops had to investigate. Every touch, kiss, and inappropriate glance between little kids is reported by the schools to the Welfare department as child abuse.
According to Douchebag-in-Chief Lamar Sims, this shows aggravated sexual assault.
From the DenverPost here:
A Denver 6-year-old was investigated by police and social service workers for telling a 6-year-old girl she had “a sexy booty.” Two 5-year-olds were reported to child-welfare investigators after they kissed on the playground. And another youngster was suspended for three days for playing tag because he hit a girl on the behind.
Those were among the examples shared Wednesday morning as city and school officials met to review a 55 percent increase in child-welfare referrals following a new “report-everything” recommendation from prosecutors — and the recent prosecution of a principal for an alleged failure to do so.
Police Chief Gerry Whitman said his agency and school officials are trying to figure out how to respond to rising caseloads.
Lamar Sims, a chief deputy in Denver District Attorney’s office, recommended during a seminar that school officials should take a “report-everything approach.”
Now there’s worry among school administrators that if they fail to report even the slightest of incidents, they could risk losing their license to teach or work as supervisors in schools.
If educators cannot be trusted to make simple common sense decisions, such as recognizing sex crimes versus children playing, how can they be trusted to teach them anything?
And check out this horrifying comment on this story at the RockyMountainNews:
I was talking to a parent at my children’s school and was astounded when she told me her child’s 2nd grade teacher called social services on her because her husband and her stopped reading with the child because she couldn’t read and was throwing fits out of frustration. So they stopped reading at night with her because it wasn’t worth the hassle. So the teacher called social services. They investigated and found no abuse and thought it was totally out of line for this teacher to call.
Why would parents put up with this crap?
