Reason 51 To Homeschool: Drunken Teacher Won’t Brag About Raping Your Kid at the Basketball Game

Meet Christel Gravlin. She is a soon-to-be-divorced mother of two. Not only did she rape one of her students, but then she got hammered and bragged about it to teachers, friends and parents while sitting in the bleachers at a basketball game.

Christel Gravlin, a 10th and 11th grade English teacher, cried in court Monday as she was formally charged with having sexual contact with the 15 year old male student.

She was arraigned on the following charges:

• third-degree criminal sexual act, a felony, for allegedly having oral sex with the student
• third-degree rape, also a felony, for allegedly having sexual intercourse with the boy
• endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor

Gravlin was accompanied to court by her husband, Stephen, a corrections officer.

According to a three-page statement to police, Gravlin said she had been suffering from depression for the past year and she began drinking alcohol and taking prescription pain killers.

During this time, one of her students contacted her through AOL Instanting Messaging to discuss his problems.

“As his teacher and someone with compassion, I tried to talk him through his problems. We began talking every night on line and eventually texting on our cell phones. The conversations quickly escalated to a sexual nature. I knew at times that this was wrong, but I didn’t stop talking to him.”

The teen told her she was young, beautiful and that he loved her and the student suggested they have sex. So she drove him to her home at in Lisbon where they (got it on).

“On November 30, after drinking very heavily at home, I attended a basketball game at Lisbon Central School. I apparently announced to students sitting around me that I was having an affair with a student. Somehow I also revealed that the student was (name withheld).”

She and the teen last communicated on December 1 when she apologized for embarrassing him. She was quitting job, changing her cell phone number and that he would no longer be hearing from her.

So her husband, will probably get to see her while doing his job as a prison guard. That is, if she’s not too busy cheating on him with other prison guards.
