Will the Wachowskis Ruin Speed Racer?

The movie is obviously shot to appear as cartoonish as possible, along with race tracks right out of video games.  It almost seems as if the movie was made just to sell the video games that are sure to accompany the movie’s release.

Based on the classic 1960s cartoon, Speed Racer was brought back to life on the big screen by those Matrix wizards, the Wachowski Brothers. And whether you agree with what they’ve done or not, guaranteed you haven’t seen anything like this before. Bursting with vibrant colors, and featuring scenes that look absolutely spectacular to watch.

While I think it was a nice idea to try to shoot it this way, I have a bad feeling that this movie will ruin all of the fond memories I had of rushing home after school to watch Speed Racer.  After checking out the trailer, tell me what you think.
