Virginia Republicans Have Good Plan For Illegal Aliens

Its obvious that the Federal Government can’t solve the illigal alien problem by itself.  Its going to take the cooperation of the state law enforcement to help identify known illegals that are in custody.  Once identified, they should be held for deportation.

The Virginia Republican party has a sensible 5-point plan to help things along.  Hopefully other states will follow suit.

Virginia Republican legislative leaders Wednesday announced five measures targeting illegal immigration.

The proposed bills deal with law enforcement, business and education. Republican lawmakers said the measures are intended to make sure people who are tapping into taxpayer resources are in the country legally.

One proposal says that when a person is arrested, the sheriff must check a federal database to determine whether that person is in the country legally. Another would require every local jail to have an employee certified by the federal government to detain illegal aliens for deportation.

The third law-enforcement proposal would deny bail for any illegal alien who is arrested.

Other measures would allow the state to suspend the business license of any business violating a federal law against hiring illegal aliens and would bar illegal immigrants from attending Virginia public colleges unless they have a valid student visa.

The General Assembly will consider the proposals at the session that begins in January.
