Great HelpDesk Ya Got There
Like many people in the IT industry, I spent my allotted time working on a Help Desk, trying to help users get their problems solved, and also trying not to strangle the stupid and the inept. I never had a great sign like this one below that I saw on Neatorama. I usually responded to stupid questions with an exaggerated eye-roll or a witty (I thought) comment.
This should be on the door of every helpdesk office.
The witty stupid comments slowed down a LOT after I got fired from a help desk at an Airline’s corporate headquarters. I reported to a woman’s desk to handle a complaint about her new HP printer. She told me, “I keep pushing the print buttons, but it won’t come.”
And I responded, “Come? Its not even breathing hard.”
It turned out that she was the secretary of a powerful executive and I got fired for the comment the next day.
