What is Your Neighborhood Walkscore?
Walkscore is a neat little applet I found. It uses Google Maps to calculate how well you can do without a car for where you live. A High Walkscore means you can sell your vehicle and get along just fine walking everywhere you need. A low score means the only walking you do is from your front porch to your car to drive somewhere.
Here is the awesome walkscore for Reston Town Center, just a short distance from my own home. My home scored a 52. RTC is a sweet 80.
Thanks to Neatorama for the link.
I agree that walk score is convinient, but nowadays more and more people drive cars and they are interested also in drive score – by using it buyers can see how close difeerent establishments are by car. Drive Score is a servise that shows a map of what establishments are in a property’s neighborhood and calculates a Drive Score based on the number of places within a convenient driving distance. Homes are often located in an area where restaurants, libraries, grocery stores, hospitals and other businesses are easier to get to by car than on foot. his unique service is situated on http://www.fizber.com.
