Chatty Baby and Mom Kicked Off Plane
This story is unbelievable. And as the guys on the FARK message board say, “You can’t profile arabs at the airport, and welcome islamofascists on board planes. But a baby? No Way!”
A baby kept repeating “Bye bye plane” over and over again, and the sky-bitch told the pilot to turn the plane around and eject the baby and its mom.
From WSBTV here:
A Gwinnett County mother says she wants answers and action after she and her baby were kicked off a plane.
Penland thinks her 19-month-old son, Garren, has a bubbly personality. But Penland said when they were aboard a Continental Expressplane, a flight attendant became annoyed by Garren’s personality when he kept saying three words.
“As we started taxiing, he started saying ‘Bye, bye plane,’ said Penland. “At the end of her speech, she leaned over the gentleman beside me and said, ‘It’s not funny anymore. You need to shut your baby up.’
In disbelief, Penland asked the woman if she was kidding. It was then, Penland said, the flight attendant went too far.
“She then said, ‘You know, it’s called baby Benadryl. And I said, ‘Well, I’m not going to drug my child so you have a pleasant flight.’
Penland said when the other passengers began speaking up on her behalf, the flight attendant got angrier and soon announced they were turning around and that Penland and Garren were going to be taken off the plane.
The young mother said she later learned the flight attendant told the pilot that she had threatened her.
The article also goes on to say that the Mom complained that she didn’t pack any bottles or diapers for her short trip, so this shows that Mom is a little clueless too, so I suspect she may have gotten sassy with the sky-bitch, but seriously, this is too much.
Why does it have to be OKAY to have annoying 19 month old toddlers – yes, I’m pretty sure that “bye bye plane” said over and over and over and over again would get pretty annoying pretty fast if I was a passenger sitting next to the kid – and crying babies – and bratty kids on planes? How’s this for a compromise, then… Put the Mommy’s with their kids their crying babies and the kids that they can’t control or make behave or who haven’t packed diapers and bottles for a “quick” trip at the very, very back of the plane – keep them all together – but don’t subject the rest of us to this type of air abuse. It’s bad enough – flying – and it’d be nice if just one trip we could count on NOT having a crying baby sitting near us [babies – or kids under 12 should NOT be allowed in Business Class or First Class, ever!] – we don’t pay twelve times the economy class ticket price to hear a screaming kid [and no, we don’t have kids of our own, we chose not to – probably for obvious reasons]! Just my opinion, but surely there are other frequent sky travelers out there who would agree that the annoying toddlers – the one kicking your seat from behind – the one who won’t sit still for ten minutes – or worse – the baby that cries and will accept NO comfort from a parent no matter what – just makes traveling miserable for EVERYONE!
You know, this woman and her kid appeared on Good Morning America to discuss the incident, and the kid was so rotten and misbehaved they had to stop the interview. Mom acted like it was perfectly normal to have her kid squirm uncontrollably.
But most kids I have encountered on flights are pretty well behaved. And I have told parents to control their children too, especially the seat kickers. And kids do have to travel- just don’t let parents get away with not controlling their children.
