Yoko’s Lawyers More Annoying Than Yoko
Tom Iverson of the UK legal firm of Eversheds has sent me another love letter decrying the fact that I have not changed the title to a previous article and have not apologized for having written it.
He can sod off. What does that mean anyways?
The newest letter he wrote is here in PDF format.
This is the response I wrote to him:
I think the correction I wrote was plain and simple, Tommy.
Only a fool will still believe that Yoko ate corgi after reading my article. In fact, the story now is not that Yoko has eaten Corgi. Its that a story was reported that she had. And as a celebrity, she is not immune from criticism, and I am within my rights to wonder why anyone would spread such false rumors about her.
By you continuing to harrass me in a different country with a different legal system, I have to wonder whether you are:
1) Overbilling your clients to pursue baseless arguments
2) Really don’t know what you are doing from a legal standpoint. Now the story is becoming one of an overbearing lawyer who is badgering a self-published website owner who already corrected the record on this matter. I was not even the originator of the story, Tommy.
You may wish to consider whether or not your client wants to become known for stamping out the US constitutional guarantees of freedom of speech after she had spent a decade championing the same.
I am posting this response publically on my website. Now go have a cup o’ tea and relax.
-Patrick
So you know that Tom Iverson is only using Google and sending threatening letters to whatever sites pop up first right? And I bet he’s billing Yoko 200 Pounds per hour for these stupid letters.
If I get many more, I might have to join up with the dreaded EFF. Also, Yoko is spending money to sponsor Google Adsense words for John Lennon. So if you see a John Lennon ad banner, click on it. Its like taking 50 cents from Yoko.
