Stupid Racist Apologies
I was listening to the Don and Mike show on the way home last night and I agree with their prediction that Don Imus is going to be fired soon. His sponsors are already leaving his show over the racist stupid comments he made about the Rutgers Women’s Basketball team. I don’t expect Imus to last another week.
I have friends who love his show, but I never was a big fan, so I really don’t care whether or not he loses his job. He is rich; he has a huge ranch in Montana. He really ought to go out west and herd cattle.
Hotair asked the question today about whether or not the Rutgers girls were “scarred for life” as they claimed in an ABC story here. Most commenters felt that such a statement was an over-exaggeration. I’m not too sure I agree.
If I had worked by tail off with my teammates to get the the NCAA championship game and lost, I would be emotionally hurt by the loss, yet proud of my accomplishments of my season. It would be something spectacular I could look back upon in my later years. But then to have all of that overshadowed by a stupid morning DeeJay who made a racist comment and embroiled my team and my accomplishments into a national scandal? I would be pissed. And it would likely forever taint those special memories.
Speaking of scarring, the thought occured to me that whenever Tawana Brawley calls in sick to work, her coworkers must giggle to one another and say that she is lying in a garbage bag taking a poo nap. That is scarring too, and well deserved. Al Sharpton, who became famous over this stupid racist incident, which was much worse than an offhand comment, was somehow the person Imus had to apologize to. Disgusting.
So we all must apologize to Al Sharpton for all of our sins. Click here to do so now.
