Childrens Hospital Hires Sex Offender

Meet Kevin Sutherland. He is a convicted sex offender that was hired by a children’s hospital. This pervert downloaded kiddie porn to his work computer and when he was arrested for it, he tried to blame his crime on an alter-ego. Most people are covering this story from the angle of the pervert’s excuse. I’m covering this from the angle that a children’s hospital is negligent in performing required background checks.

Man Blames Child Porn Viewing On 2nd Personality

SALT LAKE CITY A convicted sex offender is in trouble again for allegedly downloading child porn at a Salt Lake hospital.

45-year-old Kevin Edward Sutherland worked at Primary Children s Medical Center. During that time, his computer login was reportedly used to access porn, hundreds of times. Sutherland was immediately fired.

But he claims he s not interested in child pornography, and it was one of his other personalities that did the downloading. One of those personalities, he says, is a teenage boy who likes to look at girls his own age.

Sutherland now faces felony child porn charges.

Why would Primary Children’s Medical Center hire a known sex offender? There can only be a few reasons for hiring a man to work around children when they are in their most vulnerable state. Either the facility has no restrictions for hiring criminals, sex offenders, or both. Or, which is much more likely, the facility was negligent in performing basic security screening for its employees. In my opinion, either reason makes this hospital liable for any suffering this man caused to any patients, and this is a huge blow against the credibility and safety of the hospital.
