New Version of IE 7 Available
Microsoft just released the newest and most stable version yet of IE7. I have not been real happy with the previous versions because of what appears to be lag time for page loads and some simple web pages that do not even display correctly.
To get the latest version, just click the logo.
I will provide an update on how well it does.
UPDATE: Well, so far so good! I’m not ready to ditch my Firefox as yet, but here it looks like so far:
The IE program installs first at a reboot before the shell is loaded. This takes a few minutes. Perhaps it is making fundamental changes to the kernel. After it finishes installing, it reboots the PC once more.
At startup of IE, it goes to the microsoft runonce site and prompts the user to select the anti-phishing option. Most of my previous toolbars seem to work just fine. Those simple websites that would not display correctly? That got fixed in this release. The pages seem to load rather quickly too.
If I run into more problems, I will make a separate blog entry to detail it. But so far, so good.
