Yet Another Pervert High School Coach
Who would I trust my child with more? A coach, or a catholic priest? I would have to choose a Catholic Priest. More teachers rape and abuse children in this country every year than members of the clergy. And I dunno why coaches seem to cross my radar more than say, English Teachers. Maybe its because most coaches are not as intelligent as other teachers in the school?
If you are a teacher, don’t write me. You know it’s true. Coaches are also drivers education teachers and they teach other mundane health topics. Although I know it happens sometimes that the best teacher in the school is a science genius and a coach too, that is the exception to the rule.
Here is a case where a Girl’s Soccer Coach Ivan Chavez thought he would be smart and rig a clever social engineering scam to lure young girls to a home where they would be raped. He posed as a beautiful woman on MySpace and claimed he was a model. He would encourage other young girls to contact the modelling agent so they too, could be a hot model. The stupid girls would then contact the “agent” which was actually the soccer coach, Chavez.

A 22-year-old girls’ soccer coach was arrested on suspicion of raping a 14-year-old San Rafael girl he met through MySpace.com, police said Friday.
Ivan Chavez Chavez, who coached at De Anza High School in Richmond for the past two years, was booked on rape and sodomy allegations at the Marin County Jail, said San Rafael spokeswoman Margo Rohrbacher. Bail was set at $100,000.
Chavez was released on bail pending an initial court appearance Aug. 16.
The investigation began in May, when the San Rafael girl told police she had been sexually assaulted by a man she met through MySpace.com, an Internet community popular among juveniles.
The girl said she had been referred to the man through “Alexis,” a supposed girl she had met on the Internet in February. Alexis said she was a model and asked the girl if she’d like to meet her agent so she could be a model, too.
The girl agreed and gave Alexis her cell phone number. Soon she was contacted by a man named “Ivan,” who arranged to meet her in the parking lot of Circuit City on Bellam Boulevard in San Rafael.
After the meeting, the man drove the girl back to a residence in Richmond, ostensibly to sign some business papers. Once they were inside the residence, the man raped the girl, then drove her back to San Rafael and dropped her off, Rohrbacher said.
Parents, check your kids’ MySpace pages. Make sure they are not lying about their age and make sure they are not posting personal information about themselves on the page. If you are dumb enough to give your kid a cell phone, check the call logs daily. Find out who your kid is talking to. Read their emails. It is not invasion of privacy to enforce a security policy on your underage child. Rape is an invasion of privacy. So is kidnapping and murder.
