Imagine living in a world where an 18 year old woman cannot choose to marry whom she loves. We live in such a world, where savages with a 12th century mindset will murder their own flesh and blood for marrying someone without permission. They feel they are justified in this murder because of an imaginary code of honor and because their religion says it is okay.
No other religion on the face of this planet says its okay to murder a family member.
Did this happen in the streets of Baghdad or Tehran? Did this happen in some remote village in Pakistan? Nope. Try just outside of downtown Copenhagen in Denmark. The woman, Ghazala Khan was shot twice in the heart by her brother at the urging of her other family members.
Nine Pakistanis Accused In Honor Killing Trial In Denmark

Copenhagen, Denmark (AHN) – Nine Pakistanis living in Denmark went on trial on Monday accused of participating in the so-called honor killing of an 18-year-old woman who married without the consent of her parents.
Ghazala Khan was shot dead by her brother with two bullets in the heart in September 2005 just outside the train station of Slagelse, west of Copenhagen and her husband suffered serious injuries in attack, reports AFP.
The prosecution has qualified the murder as an honor killing, the ninth in Denmark in the past decade, but the brother insists it was accidental.
Six other members of the victim s family, including her father and three family friends, were charged with murder and attempted murder.
Strict security measures have been taken for the trial, which is to conclude next month.
