Sicko’s Plans Included Cannibalism
Okay, this does not have too awfully much to do with MySpace, but thanks to the Internet and blogging utilities, people can much more easily see into the minds of others through the things that people write about. Here is a chance to peer into the mind of someone that abducted a 10 year old girl. But the attacker didn’t stop at abduction. He murdered the little girl, Jamie Rose Bolin, and then drained her blood, raped her corpse, and was preparing to eat her body.
This sick twisted animal, Kevin Underwood, had a myspace page (temporarily down, probably to preserve evidence), and I only found out about it because of my daily myspace crime news that I check; thanks to Trench at MyCrimeSpace. I got the rest at Huff, and you should go there for all of the details, but be warned about the grisly content.
Quoting from Huff, who quoted a press release from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation:
Police Chief David Tompkins and McClain County District Attorney Tim Kuykendall released a grisly synopsis to reporters about the final moments of Jamie Rose Bolin s life.
Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation agents executing warrants at the apartment of Kevin Ray Underwood seized a decorative dagger, a hack saw, duct tape, meat tenderizer, barbecue skewers, a duffel bag, a computer, a wooden cutting board and a videotape about a serial killer, Tompkins said. They also found a bicycle under a bed and a mug, both of which belonged to the victim, Tompkins said.
Regarding a potential motive, this appears to have been part of a plan to kidnap a person, rape them, torture them, kill them, cut off their head, drain the body of blood, rape the corpse, eat the corpse, then dispose of the organs and bones, Tompkins said.
The child s body was found in the closet of a bedroom in Underwood s apartment, authorities said. Her unclothed body was inside a large blue, Rubbermaid tub, along with a towel used to soak up blood, officials said.
The child had deep saw marks on her neck, which investigators believe was an attempt to decapitate the body. She wasn t dismembered, officials said.
This does not appear to be a spur of the moment crime of opportunity but a well-thought out, premeditated act with months of planning and preparation, Kuykendall said.
Well, Kevin Underwood committed this foulness in a state that has, THANK GOD, the death penalty. I do not know Mike Farrell’s stance on the rights of child cannibal murderers, but I’m sure BJ Honeycutt is against putting this monster down.
There is also news that Underwood was blogging about a fossil linking mankind to apes being discovered, while the body of little Jamie was sitting in a giant Rubbermaid tub in his closet. Underwood was fond of comparing himself to a subspecies, and in fact, that was his myspace URL. I am no criminal psychologist, but I think that the point is clear that Underwood needed an excuse for his heinous, animal-like behavior. If all he is could be summed up by a comparison to hairless apes, with no connection to God, morality, and society, then he should be free to act on his proto-human instincts.
